He walked the countryside long ago
Preaching to those who did not know
Of God's love that's always true
And that faith could give them life anew.
He preached and prayed and healed the sick
He raised the dead, he did not pick
The rich, the powerful or the strong
To those in need he said, Come along.
And then one day a jealous lot
Decided that he should be forgot
So, crucify him was their request
They put him to a difficult test.
But, these sinners, he forgave
Then they placed him in a grave
>From the grave he rose one day
Now our sins are washed away.
He died that we are all forgiven
That in his home we will be living
He saves us by amazing grace
No one can ever take his place.

Life is a play
We all have a part
It's what we do on the stage
That sets us apart
Each has a cross
Which only he can bear
Of other peoples plights
He is unaware
One actor plays the part of a lover
Having a mate to care for and covet
He's happy with life, as many are
He just doesn't see what's happening afar
The next plays the part of a miserable soul
He wishes that he could just crawl in a hole
Life has dealt him a really bad card
But he keeps on trying, he knows life's hard
So take what you're given
And give it your best
And maybe in the end
You'll pass the true test
For God has a plan
Which only he knows
And when you try hard
His love for you grows

Up in the morning
Out and about
Milk the old cow
And let her out
Separate the milk
Take off the cream
Make into butter
Shake and swing
Head for the field
The tractor's waitin'
Plow the whole day
You're cultivatin'
It's bedtime now
You sleep like the chickens
So you can get out early
It's cotton pickin'

The way we were in years before
When we were young forever more
Or so we thought, in our youth
But now we finally see the truth
The years do seem to take their toll
Not like we thought in days of old
Life's not forever anymore
Death may be knocking at our door
We never know when it will strike
It takes us all the same, alike
It takes us when we least expect it
Insurance, you just can't collect it
So live each days as if it were the last
And don't go living in the past
For no-one knows what morning brings
Or when that last alarm will ring

When we were married, man and wife
We had few worries in our life
But, we weren't happy, not complete
We thought that children would be neat
So we decided what to do
We'd have a baby, yes, it's true
Our lives have never been the same
Not since the day the babies came
There's not a day when there is peace
There's always strife, there's no release
If it's not one thing, it's another
Oh please, I said don't hurt your brother
Oh yes we love them, this is certain
But sometimes I think, what would be hurtin'
If I just left and did not come back
They'd probably just help me pack
When will I ever have my freedom
All these problems, I don't need em
Just one day without a worry
Oh Lord, I'm begging, please, please hurry

As we walk through
This world today
The trials of life
Stand in the way
They stop us from
The dreams we savor
An almost never
Are in our favor
They walk with us
Throughout the years
They see our dreams
They feel our tears
In fact, no matter
What we say
The trials of life
Won't go away
They're with us
When our prayers are said
And when it's time
To go to bed
So learn to beat
The trials of life
Or they will cut you like a knife
